Happy New Year.
You can feel the energy. I can feel it too. The whole world can.
It’s not ordinary energy. It’s latent power. And if you know what to do with it, it can be harnessed to create a truly great year.
The dawn of 2026 carries fresh hope, new opportunities, confident expectations, and the quiet thought many people won’t say out loud: maybe this will finally be my year.
No illusions.
Before this energy fades quietly into routine, I want to help you convert it into something deeper and more durable: inner confidence. Not hype. Not borrowed motivation. The kind that is birthed within you and cannot be shaken by circumstances.
You have to decide to have a great year.
You must decide that this will be the year your efforts begin to pay off, your dreams move from imagination to execution, and your vision starts taking form. Whether it’s a change of habits, financial growth, stronger relationships, or simply living better, what you desire is possible.
But it is at the mercy of what you are willing to do differently.
You cannot afford to repeat last year’s cycles.
Something has to change.
In this post, I want to share three decisions that can help you turn New Year energy into real progress.
1. Be Ready to Sacrifice for Your Dreams
No fluff.
Most people don’t have a vision problem. They know what they want. They know what would improve their lives. Goal-setting is not the issue.
The real problem is that the level of commitment required to actualize those dreams often falls short.
This year demands honesty. You must intentionally do the things that actually move the needle. This is not the year of self-delusion. Growth has a price, and there is no other day to pay it.
“A cat that dreams of becoming a lion must lose its appetite for rats.” — African proverb
Sacrifice is what separates dreamers from achievers. This was one of the strongest lessons last year taught me. Read the 3 Lessons that 2025 taught me here.
Let me share something personal.
Last year, I had a brief conversation with a mentor. He said something simple that lodged itself in my spirit:
“If you think you are ready, go and do it. If not, do otherwise.”
I walked away with a decision to make. Either pay the price of growth or keep shadow‑boxing.
It wasn’t easy. The decision demanded real sacrifice.
As the year went on, doubt tried to creep in. People who were used to my usual energy reached out, asking if everything was okay. Outwardly, there were no visible signs of progress. At moments, it felt like I had made a mistake.
But I didn’t flinch.
I knew in my heart that the sacrifice was necessary, and I was willing to stay with it as long as required. That is determination.
I realized something uncomfortable: my dreams were big, but my sacrifices were not matching them.
So I gave up a lot of things to go up. I chose service, proximity, and transformation over comfort. I decided to become the kind of man who could handle bigger responsibility.
That decision turned out to be the most rewarding one I made all year. What looked foolish at first became formative. I stepped into new levels of wisdom and clarity, and things are massively different now.
In 2026, you must determine the sacrifice your dreams require.
You cannot negotiate it.
Big dreams demand big sacrifices. If you dream of becoming a lion, your appetite for rats must die.
2. No Guts, No Glory
This is the decision that separates champions from wishers.
It’s not that many people don’t know what to do. The problem is that they are not doing it.
This is not another year to sit in the stands cheering for others. It is time to step into the arena.
Less talk. More execution.
Fear is often the real obstacle. It shows up in many disguises, magnifies limitations, and fills the imagination with everything that could go wrong.
Don’t suffer from analysis paralysis.
Wisdom is not endless thinking. Wisdom empowers decision. At every level, there is something you can do to move forward. It may not be loud, but loudness is not progress.
Be courageous. Be stubborn. Stay in the fight.
Wear courage as armor. Wear perseverance like a shield. Develop the kind of holy stubbornness that refuses to quit.
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. ~ Helen Keller
In 2026, be daring. Be bold. Take the risks required to become who you are meant to be.
3. Invest Intentionally in Relationships
Relationships are gamechangers. Where there is no vision, the people perish but where there are no people, your vision will perish.
Accept it humbly; the fulfilment of your dreams require other people’s help. People make things happen. You don’t need all kinds of people in your life, only the right people.
First of all, you want to intentionally audit your association. Some relationships expired with last year . Don’t carry the baggage into this year. Don’t give access to people who don’t deserve it any more and don’t be apologetic about it.
Healthy relationships are built on mutual honor, shared values, and reciprocity. Where these are missing, access should be reconsidered.
This year, be intentional about the people you learn from, walk with, and listen to. Your association matters. Either they move you towards your dream or they drag you away from the path.
This is the year to intentionally build relationships with mentors, peers, and collaborators who are aligned with where you’re going.
These three decisions can truly contribute to a meaningful year for you if you make them strategically. 2026 is the year to go for your dreams. Don’t hold back and I wish you your best year yet.
SOAR!
